my evacuation by fred (Daniel Walsh)

It was a cold morning in December 1939. I was sleeping peacefully in my bed until my mum shook me awake.  I slowly woke up drowsely. My mum startled me when she told me I was to be evacuated. I asked her why my legs had to be shot off but she said my legs weren't going to be shot off so on the way to the train station she explained it all to me even what i had to be evacuated for and why there was a war and what was world war one and how hard a life she went through when she was younger.

once i got to the train station my mum told me to write a letter as soon as I got there to show I was safe. By the time i got on the train i couldnt beilive how many children were on it now i finally relised how dangerous this war was. as the trains whisle went and we depatured I felt we were going downhill then suddenly the train went pitch black I looked out of the window and saw we were in a underground train tunnel.

soon later light reappeared I looked out of the window and I saw lush green stuff that sparkled on the floor outside people's houses some people were shooting water at it out of a long snake some of them sprinkled water out of a strange bucket with a neck. some small kids thought it was sweets people were throwing water over the kids thought that made the sweets sweeter. But I didn't think it was sweets, people would be crazy to throw sweets on the floor because kids would eat them all up, and it would as well be crazy since they were rationed.

After a while we screeched to a halt I was told to stand on the corner of the pavement with some other children to wait for a lady that would look after me. They told us to be well behaved and well mannered and follow all the rules that the lady gave us, then the train huffed and puffed and went away. after a couple of minutes I heard a moo-ing sound and I looked at what was making the strange sound. It was a very strange thing it was white with black spots on it a pink nose a four pink things dangling form its, stomach some of the kids thought it was an alien with two stomach's and we just relised it waseating the same strange green thing we saw earlier. just then a lady came along and said she would be looking after us!
