Kians Nelson Mandela biography

Nelson Mandela
a biography
Introduction
Nelson Rohihlahla Mandela, was born on July the eighteenth, nineteen eighteen in a small village in South Africa. His father was a local chief and Nelson was the son of his third wife. When he was seven his mum and dad decided to let him go to school and  he was the first child of his family to do this. Sadly when he was his nine his father died and he was adopted by his uncle then he went to a western education school.  After that he trained as a lawyer and became a key figure of the ANC (African National Congress) a political party that sought to unite the africans and regain their rights and freedom.
Jail
In nineteen sixty two he was arrested for violent protest against whites and the government. On August the fifth after living on the run for seventeen months he was arrested at johannesburg fort. Then he was sentenced to life in prison. While he was in prison his mum and older son died, sadly he was not allowed to go to their funerals. As he lived in prison his reputation grew larger and larger it bought a lot of attention to the way black africans where treated in the apartheid system. Free Mandela became a global phrase.
Released
during his time in jail people protested about him being there so the president decided that on February the eleventh nineteen ninety after twenty seven years of imprisonment at the age of seventy two he could finally be released. in 1994 he was surprisingly elected the first black president of South Africa and  retired in nineteen ninety nine. At the moment he still stands up for South Africa and South Africans against poverty and their human rights.
Now
Nelson Mandela is one of the worlds greatest and to this day admired political leaders. In nineteen ninety three he was awarded a Nobel Peace prize for being a shining example of a strong leader with amazing human spirit. He is so famous that the UN (United Nations) in two thousand and nine declared July the eighteenth Nelson Mandela day. I admire Nelson Mandela because he is passionate about his people and country. He once said “mans goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished.”  he is now ninety two years of age and lives in his homeland.
